Check to see what’s on tap from recent winners, like the seasonal Mexican-style lager or the Buried Hatchet stout with its smoky toffee, coffee, and chocolate blend. Besides, with free tours and tastings, what’s not to love?
Karbach Brewing Co.
The love child of CR Goodman Distribution Company, this brewery was founded by the greats who also created household names like Sierra Nevada and Dogfish Head. Here, the informal guided tours feel more like an afternoon spent with friends, with none of the pageantry and pomp and circumstance that typically accompanies tours of this nature. Don’t miss the unique Cherry Limeade and Blood Orange brews for something refreshingly different from the usual blends most popularly offered.
Saint Arnold Brewing Co.
Perhaps the most popular because it is the oldest, this craft brewery found home in a century-old warehouse where it now proudly boasts a full line of custom craft beers and a festive Biergarten. The tropical flavors of the Daydream American saison are reason enough to stop by, but the Fancy Lawnmower is the perfect German-style Kolsch with its crisp and sweet flavors.
Buffalo Bayou Brewery
Enjoy a weekend picnic under twinkling lights on the outdoor patio at Buffalo Bayou Brewery while sipping their flagship brew, the 1836, in honor of Houston’s birthday. Many of their brews boast unforgettable names like More Cowbell, a blend of both grassy and floral notes, and Wake ‘N Bake, which is sure to satisfy any serious coffee enthusiast. food trucks offer sustenance while pub games will keep the whole crew entertained long after the tastings are over.
Spindletap Brewery
This brewery offers more than just beer barrels, although they are undoubtedly impressive.
