July 20th celebrates not just the lunar landing of Apollo 11 but also Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin’s first steps on the moon where those famous words were first spoken. Special events kick off on July 16th with the sold-out luncheon with Apollo flight controllers. Lessons from Mission Control is scheduled for July 19th, featuring former NASA flight director Gene Kranz.
July 20th will bring the largest celebration yet, with performances by hit recording artists, WALK THE MOON and Phillip Phillips.
It will be an all-day celebration, culminating in a special countdown to Neil Armstrong’s landmark arrival on the moon. Don’t miss the esteemed panelists hosting special presentations, as well as book signings by “Dutch” von Ehrenfried and Rich Houston.
The opening ceremony will feature an appearance by the U.S. Army’s aerial parachute team, the Golden Knights.
The Army will also lend an actual Apache helicopter for view, as well as an exclusive exhibition trailer dedicated to robotics. Stay tuned for the Jerry Woodfill Rock and Roll Show!
NASA will offer late-night tram tours, as well as legendary speakers, book signings, and a family-focused learning zone. There are even cooling areas to help you beat the heat!
